World of Coffee 2019 in Berlin – What was it like for us?

10.06.19

Well, those were extremely intensive days of participating in the Berlin World Coffee 2019 event. We would like to share our ideas, findings and figures from it with you:

➡ This year 335 participants located in three pavilions;
➡ Some 60 contacts per day with leads, potential customers and our partners;
➡ Useful statistics on the geography of the prospects, ready to order our packaging: 60 % — EU countries, 20 % — African countries, the rest being distributed among America and Asia.

European packaging trends: what packaging was presented at the festival
by coffee roasters?

1) Flat bottom bags. They became an absolute champion of the festival. Some 90 % of all coffee was flat-bottom packaged. This bag comes in a variety of colors, sizes and materials. Europeans tend to use paper as the top layer.

2) According to the number of requests and our stand visitors’ interest, we can confidently single out a new coffee packaging star — a pine soft touch effect bag. This top coating nice and soft to touch, while you would call it velvet or paper.

3) The third place is taken by another trend — the absence of metallized layer in coffee packaging. This aspect is of wide scope and importance.

This office week is going to be at least as intensive as the one in Berlin. Even in this heat we cannot stop drinking hot coffee. May you all be positive and successful this summer! Thank you for being with us.
